Simple Plant Care & Quiet Reflections
I picked this one this week because itās one of my favorites.
Iāve realized Iām a little drawn to the āweird ones.ā
I donāt know⦠maybe itās because I feel a little different myself.
This is a variegated wax ivy.

Iāve always loved ivy plants, but Iāve never been able to keep a typical one alive in normal home conditions.
So when I found thisā¦
it felt like I had finally found one that worked for me.
Something that could just do its thingā¦
and actually grow.
I think thatās what draws me into this hobby more than anything.
The way I end up relating to certain plants.
I know that probably sounds a little strangeā¦
but I really do feel connected to them in a way.
I think thatās why I go for the weird ones so often.
The ones you donāt see in every collection.
The ones that donāt necessarily stand out at first....

This one started out really small.
It lives by a lamp in my living room,
and honestly⦠it doesnāt get a lot of light.
You can kind of tell itās reaching a little,
leaning toward whatever it can find.
But when you look closerā¦
The leaves are so pretty.
Some come in completely white⦠others have this soft purple tone,
almost like theyāve been lightly sunstressed.
And itās happy.
Thatās the part that stands out the most to me.
It doesnāt need much.
I water it maybe once a month in the winterā¦
a little more in the summer.
Nothing complicated.
I plan to keep this one for a long time.
Itās easily one of my top favoritesā¦
I think Iām learning that not every plant is meant to fit into the same conditionsā¦
or the same expectations.
Sometimes you just have to find the one that works for you. šæ
If this one caught your attention, you might enjoy having one of your own. šæ
I added a link below just in case you want to take a look and see whatās out there.
If youāre trying to keep your plant care simple,
I share more of whatās been working for me through email⦠along with little reflections like this.šæ
