I thought something was wrong with this plant.

When I first got it, I was still pretty new to plants, and it completely confused me… the new leaves were coming in almost completely white.

I didn’t understand how that could be a good thing, and I kept wondering if I was doing something wrong.

This is a philodendron Florida Ghost... one of the more interesting plants in my collection 🌿

The leaves come in very pale, almost white, and then slowly darken as they mature. The shape even kind of resembles a little ghost… so the name actually fits it perfectly.

But at the time, I didn’t know any of that.

I remember checking on it constantly, trying to figure out what I needed to fix. One day I finally went to Instagram and searched “Florida Ghost”… and seeing other plants that looked just like mine completely changed everything.

It wasn’t struggling.

It was growing exactly the way it was supposed to.

And I don’t know… that stuck with me a little.

It made me think about how often we assume something is wrong… just because it doesn’t look like what we expected.
