Simple Plant Care & Quiet Reflections
I almost threw it away.
I had this propagation sitting in water…
and the stem had turned completely black.
It looked rotten.
I remember noticing it a few days before,
thinking I’d deal with it later…
but I kept putting it off.
When I finally went to clean out the cup,
I had already decided it was trash.
I was just trying to get to it
before it started to smell.
But when I pulled it out…
I noticed something I didn’t expect at all.
A tiny syngonium leaf,
pushing its way out of that black, rotting stem.

So instead of throwing it away,
I planted it.
Just a small pot… nothing special.
But if it could survive in a dark jar of water like that,
I can only imagine what it might do now.
I’ll be keeping an eye on it.
Not just to see how it grows…
but to remember what it came from.
Because sometimes things look too far gone.
Sometimes they look like they’ve already lost.
But that doesn’t always mean they’re done.
Sometimes they’re just…
still finding their way back to the light.
If you liked this, I send out emails with simple plant care and little reflections like this. 🌿
It’s nothing complicated, just what’s been helping me, and maybe it’ll help you too.
